Our Armoring process:
All opaque armour components are pre-fabricated and designed by International Armoring Corporation out of the United States. We use premium tools along with our own plasma table to maximize efficiency and manufacturing outputs to deliver our armored cars faster and higher quality.
The opaque armour system is fixed with our proprietary Weldfree technolgoy along with patented Elitus Overlap system to all welded areas for added protection inside all areas of the vehicle. The system is bonded to the chassis to maintain the structure in a fixed and rigid position inside the passenger compartment. The panels are coated with an anti-corrosive material and wherever the system touches the original body, rubberised anti-corrosive sealants are used to isolate any contamination and dampen the contact between to two structures.
Fuel Tank and Floor Protection
To ensure the safest armoured vehicles, International Armoring Corporation protects the floor of the storage space as well as the passenger areas with a multi-layered ballistic nylon this is lightweight armour that is used to seal the entire floor of the vehicle. The floor armour is designed to absorb explosion fragmentation. The lightweight armour is entirely concealed under the carpet and seats of the vehicle, maintaining the original appearance. Armour is also placed surrounding the fuel tank of each vehicle to create an anti-explosive fuel tank.
Eltus Overlap System
International Armoring Corporation’s commitment to continuous research and development assures clients the most technologically advanced armoured passenger vehicles available. One example of such is International Armoring Corporation’s Elitus® Overlap System. This concealed molded armouring process (called Elitus®) assures an added level of ballistic protection in all “vulnerable”, areas in the passenger compartment, namely door openings and around windows.
Suspension
The suspension of the vehicle (including shocks, springs and/or sway bars), along with the brakes, should be modified when a vehicle is armoured. International Armoring Corporation recommends its clients begin the armoring process with a heavier duty vehicle. This will help with the modification process of upgrading the suspension, shocks and brakes later on. The modification is done with a standard package that may vary depending on the needs of the client. When armouring saloon cars often the suspension only needs to be re-calibrated to with-hold the additional weight and does not require new springs or shocks.
